The Gran Fondo.

Online Entry: $135

Taking place over a beautiful 85km course on Sunday October 09th, the Gran Fondo is an exciting challenge. The Gran Fondo is run in memory of our great friend, Mark Dolan.

Roll out for the Gran Fondo takes place at 7.00am, from the Apollonian Hotel.

The Gran Fondo course enjoys stunning hinterland scenery and picturesque towns.

The Gran Fondo includes several additional sectors of ‘strade bianche’; the ‘white’ or gravel roads.

Several refreshment stops will provide water, bananas and other free delicacies. Expect other delicious treats at the other refuelling stops! Don’t forget to stamp your Brevet Card.

The 2022 course features approximately 1,200m of elevation with 50% gravel.

The Noosa Strade Bianche is a not for profit event and a worthy cause is supported each year.

Noosa Strade Bianche on Sunday October 09th 2022 is going ahead as planned but these are very uncertain times.

We are taking entries as normal but will be keeping you informed based on the Government’s latest advice and guidance.

If we do have to cancel the event for this year, we will provide a refund less costs levied by this booking site.,

We are hopeful that things will stay as good as they are at the moment, so remember keep riding your bike – we just recommend that you follow the latest advice with regards to hygiene and social distancing.

Stay healthy, happy and keep pedalling!

We strongly suggest that you carry Aus Cycling ride plus membership or equivalent insurance. The onus is on you; see terms & conditions of entry.

This event is not for beginners.

The route will be marked at relevant intersections and there will be a ‘broom wagon’, however participants will be responsible for their own navigation, nutrition, mechanicals and safety. GPS devices are permitted, but riders should also seriously consider having a copy of the maps for this region as a backup. Participants must carry their own food/water, although there are several Brevit points that will serve you free refreshments as part of your entry fee. We pass through several towns where food and drinks can be purchased & toilet stops can be made.

Carry whatever you’ll need to survive! Be prepared to cope with broken spokes, flats, broken chains, etc.

The following are suggested:

  • Extra half links.
  • At least 2 tubes and a perhaps patch kit.
  • A decent hand pump (and possibly CO2 also, but never rely on it solely).
  • A multi-tool that does everything.
  • Extra Derailleur hanger?
  • The capacity to carry fluids and food, although it will be possible to re-provision en-route.
  • Front & rear lighting for the possibility of late return.
  • Form partnerships & be prepared to help out your fellow riders!

The first 300 Sunday fondo finishers with completed brevet card will receive a specially minted commemorative medallion and sash.
