Be part of Noosa’s first Gravel event.
Gravel Bikes, Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes….
Take your pick & select your favourite… Experience the course that the Vintage Bicycles will be riding over in 2021, on your state of the art modern bike.
Taking place over the same gruelling 147.5km course as the Gran Fondo on Sunday August 8th, the Dirty Noosa Gravel Fondo is a new addition to the Noosa Strade Bianche.
Roll out for the Dirty Noosa takes place at 8.00am, depart is from the Noosa Marina.
The Dirty Noosa Gravel Fondo course extends further north than the Medio and enjoys stunning hinterland scenery & the picturesque towns of Cooran, Traveston, Kin Kin & Pomona.
The Dirty Noosa Gravel Fondo includes several additional sectors of ‘strade bianche’; the ‘white’ or gravel roads with the punishing Shadbolt Road climb and exhilarating descents off the ‘Gap’ and ‘Gentle Annie’.
For 2021 we are returning to Noosa Marina via Lake MacDonald and Ringtail Road, to bypass a traffic ‘black spot’ in Cooroy.
Several refreshment stops will provide water, bananas and other free delicacies. Expect other delicious treats at the other refuelling stops on the northern loop! Don’t forget to stamp your Brevet Card.
In Kin Kin, the Black Ant Cafe and Kin Kin Hotel can also be tempting for weary riders.
Approximately 2200m of vertical climb.

This event is not for beginners.
The route will be marked at relevant intersections and there will be a ‘broom wagon’, however participants will be responsible for their own navigation, nutrition, mechanicals and safety. GPS devices are permitted, but riders should also seriously consider having a copy of the maps for this region as a backup. Participants must carry their own food/water, although there are several Brevit points that will serve you free refreshments as part of your entry fee. We pass through several towns where food and drinks can be purchased & toilet stops can be made.
Carry whatever you’ll need to survive! Be prepared to cope with broken spokes, flats, broken chains, etc.
The following are suggested:
- Extra half links.
- At least 2 tubes and a perhaps patch kit.
- A decent hand pump (and possibly CO2 also, but never rely on it solely).
- A multi-tool that does everything.
- Extra Derailleur hanger?
- The capacity to carry fluids and food, although it will be possible to re-provision en-route.
- Front & rear lighting for the possibility of late return.
- Form partnerships & be prepared to help out your fellow riders!
